On the 31^st of August, Benders Sverige AB entered into an agreement for the purchase of Walldén Markbetong AB (WMB).

In the 2015 construction season, Benders delivered some 140 linear metres of retaining wall elements of various heights to the Swedish Transport Administration’s project in Kågeröd. A railway underpass for pedestrians and cyclists was built there. The elements supplied by Benders take up the height variations before and after the tunnel.

Benders is sponsoring Elitloppet (“Elite Race”) for the first time this year. Elitloppet is one of the biggest and most prestigious trotting competitions anywhere. The world’s best horses are being invited to Solvalla to compete over the sprint distance of 1,609 metres on Sunday the 29^th of May.

Benders’ purposeful investment in using trains to complement lorry transport continues. It is now the turn of Åstorp and Skåne to join the network.

This autumn, a new recycling centre is opening at Storskogen in Oskarshamn. Benders is supplying 250 linear metres of its 3.4 metre high T-retaining elements. The elements will form the site entrance and exit as well as the bays for the waste-sorting containers.

Refurbishment of Gothenburg’s famous Avenyn began last autumn. Benders is part of the project. We are supplying Bender Bohus granite slabs. These are a mix of Swedish black diabase and grey Bohus granite. The first part of the project is scheduled for completion at the end of April, beginning of May 2016.

Prior to its October takeover of Skanska Stomsystem AB, Benders is setting up a Stockholm office and recruiting new personnel.

After the summer, the Strängnäs-based company Skanska Stomsystem, which manufactures prefabricated construction elements, will be a part of the Benders group.
