Benders’ purposeful investment in using trains to complement lorry transport continues. It is now the turn of Åstorp and Skåne to join the network.
In collaboration with Green Cargo and its wagon load system, Benders is, as of 4 April 2016, running a rail connection between the units in Bålsta and Åstorp. Benders is already using its own rail wagons between Bålsta and Kongsvinger. Here, TÅGAB is the operator and in charge of routing. Benders also uses combined transport – trailers are loaded and then moved both by road and, over long distances, rail.
The investment in rail has enabled direct train connections to customers from Benders’ production units in Bålsta, Uddevalla and now Åstorp. All of these have their own branch lines. These services are also collaborations with Green Cargo and its wagon load system.
