Once again! A several year old record has been broken. No one believed it was possible to lay slabs so quickly. Slabs take more time than ordinary paving stones.
The slabs were Benders’ smooth, 300 x 300 x 60 mm; the place was the tunnel through Hallandsåsen. Benders has supplied large quantities of both slabs and ducting elements for this project.
Once again, it was Stenteknik AB of Karlstad who accomplished the feat. Using the appropriate laying method and working an 11-hour shift, two men laid 84 slabs. This equates to 1,210 m of passage or 752 m2.
“This was achieved through fantastic organisation with very good planning and ridiculously good collaboration in production,” manager for Skanska – Vinci, the civil works consortium running the Hallandsås project.
Benders is impressed and is looking forward to once again helping to provide the right conditions through first-class production planning, production and deliveries.
